On 10-10-2010 Kylie gave birth to 9 beautifull puppies, 4 boys en 5 girls. All the puppies are already promissed to nice people. At the Album of the website, the puppie pictures will be uploaded.

On August 8th we had Kylie mated by Ari von der Emsaue. And today, 4 weeks later we have the first pictures of the puppies. Isn't that amazing! It's difficult to exactly count them, so that will be a surprise. Around October 10th we expect them to be born.

These pictures are made of our training yesterday. We had a fox to train with, which is rather special. Hennie and Tonnie want to enter a German VGP test this fall with Kalle and Athos and for that the dogs need to fetch foxes. Athos is Kylie and Kalle's nephew. (from Jazz's sister Heidi) The dogs did realy well and I could make some nice pictures of it :-))

We decided to walk the dogs together on a more regular basis, for we don't live that far apart from eachother. And the dogs just love it! They are a pack from the first minute on. Only the park is less peace and quite when we are there :-)) This time we brought our camera...

Just like Kalle, Django jr. became International Champion! Congratulations!! International Champions won at least 2 CAC IB's in 2 different countries and are in the possesion of a workingdog certificate.

Rembrandt at the clubmatch

In total there were 12 Stommeerpolder brothers and sisters at the clubmatch! The dogs from the last litter now are 9 months old which is a bad age for showing, for they are still very loose in moving. They had fairly good comments though and Rembrandt even got an excellent and became third in his class. Hennie showed him which ofcourse was also a pro :-)) But to be hounest, he looks great!!

Kalle BOB on the Dutch clubmatch!

Last Saturday the Dutch Large Munsterlander Club organised their yearly clubmatch. There were 64 LM's present to show. Two years ago Kalle ended up as reserve best dog, last year as best dog and this year he ended up as BOB! (best of breed) Well, for next year there's nothing left to gain :-)) Congratulations Peggy, Anke and Hennie!!

Kylie's new boyfriend: Ari v.d. Emsaue

We found Kylie a handsome boyfriend: Ari von der Emsaue. He's supposed to be the father of our next litter. He is a very happy and relaxt dog, with great looks, not too big and kind of the same type as Kylie is. He's been used several times in Germany and Austria and there are already over 100 children of him, so he's got a good name, otherwise he wouldn't be used that often. In Holland he's only been used once. If you are interested in this combination, let us know, for we already received several inquiries.

Because there are several litters planned for coming winter, we seriously think about having Kylie's litter in the afterseason (September). We have a handsome German Dog in mind. As soon as we are sure we will ofcourse mention him on this website. We are very sure about Kylie being a fun mum, as fun as she was as a sister, teaching her little brothers and sisters all naughty habits like digging holes :-)) If you are interested in a little Kylie, let us know! It was pooring rain last Thuesday and only the real diehards appeared on the huntingtraining. Patricia and Gunn started the huntingtraining again since a few weeks and Gunn is doing well. Next fall Gunn is supposed to do the real work on the hunt in Switserland, so this summer it's practising time :-))

We received a realy nice email from Madeleine about Muste (Birk) and a few very recent pictures (21-04-10) There's still snow! Brrrrrrr.. She says Muste is a very big puppy now. He's 65cm high and 27 kg weight. He doesn't realize how big he is himself and still wants to sit on your lap, although there's not so much space for him left on the lap :-)) He's very happy, loves people and other dogs. And he loves to learn, so Madeleine and Kjell hope that when the huntingtraining starts this summer, he will do fine. Kjell is a hunter himself and Muste will be trained to be his huntingdog (lucky Muste!) He looks gorgeous on the pictures! And don't he and his brothers look a lot the same! Thank you for the pictures!

On April 10, Kazan and Joy were, together with 3 other dogs, invited for a youngsters workingtest in Belgium. The natural hunting instincts of the dogs were being tested. The test was identical on the German VJP and was also judged by 2 German judges, Mr. Rolf Jansen and Mr. Tony Schellartz. It was such a beautifull day and all the people were so friendly! We had a great time. Joy started a bit difficult, for there were lots of mice in the field, which she liked to catch and also the butterflies were very interesting to chase, but once she discovered there were also hares and pheasants in the field she started searching the field realy well. She pointed on ducks, chased out a hare and also searched a haretrace realy well. In total she gained 70 points wich is a realy good result on a VJP, especially becauce she's only 7 months old. The judges were very charmed by Kazan. His insincts were very well developped. Only his ears didn't work that well. As soon as the lead came off, Kazan was hunting the field and there was no animal succesfully hiding for him. Kazan had such a good time, he didn't want to stop and it took for about half an hour before we had him on the lead again. He had 10 points for searching, gametrails even 11 points for pointing, but only 3 points for being led/listening :-(( In total still 64 points which is also not bad at all. After the tests in the pub, we had a good chat with the judges and what a coincidence, judge Rolf Jansen is the breeder of Django vom Sülztal, which is the father of the first litter with Kylie, Kalle, Jordi etc. What a small world!

The show reports from Crufts 2010 were published, so here's what judge Mrs. Helen Salmon thought of the boys:

LD (9) 1 Spence's Jordi van de Stommeerpolder from Cicada, super, masculine dog, good size & substance without coarseness, well balanced, correctly angulated, free moving. I was proud to award him the CC & BOB. Both he & his handler showed their steady temperament to ably represent the breed in the group despite the distractions.

Last Saturday, Annemieke with Bonnie and Mila, Michel and Jolanda with Sparkey and me with Jazz and Kylie decided to walk togeteher in the park. Well, that was a big succes. The adults were teaching the youngsters how to be clever and they all had lots of fun.

On March the 13th we had kind of a family reunion. The Belgium Large Munsterlander Club organised a huntingtest for youngsters and 8 of the Stommeerpolder youngsters joined the test. It wasn't possible to make pictures of the test itselve, but ofcourse we made lots of pictures of the dogs. Above a little selection. They all look so good, especially their heads! In total there were 17 youngsters joining te test and of all, Joy did best :-)) Well done Joy!

This afternoon Jordi won Best of Breed at Crufts! At the Gundog Group he was accompanied by a streaker and had to walk twice, but looked realy good. Ares officially tracking a shot wild boar

Ares is only 5,5 months old now and was officially asked for tracking a shot, but not dead wild boar. The wild boar was shot the evening before, but run off and the hunter couldn't find it anymore. By taking Ares to the place the wild boar was shot at first and letting him smell at the drops of blood, Ares started to search for it's track. At last the wild boar was found about a kilometer further and not dead at all. That's where Klaus and his huntingmate had to help out. Ares did a realy good job for such a young dog! (don't you think he's not only smart, but also very handsome :-))

The Large Munsterlander training is very special, for they always have special game to train with. Now they had a tiny fox (but the smell is the same) and a fitch, terribly smelling :-(( Untill now I could never pursuade Kylie to fetch them for me, but at this training it finally worked out. Now I hope she will still remember this at the working tests so we don't lose points on the fitches and foxes anymore. But for today I'm very happy!

They are 5 1/2 months old now. Last Saturday there was a Large Munsterlander hunting training for all ages and levels and Joy and Rembrandt were joining the training. They worked very well and Jet and Yvonne had a great day. Funny to see is that Joy, being the largest puppy in the litter, isn't that big at all and Rembrandt has already beaten Kylie in hight!

It's already 2 weeks ago the Large Munsterlander Beachwalk was organised. In total there were 18 Large Munsterlander present, so no birds on that beach anymore during the walk :-)) The Stommeerpolder family was well presented by Jazz, Kylie, Gimly, Django jr., Kalle and Sparkey. Sparkey didn't do the whole walk, for that was a bit too far for a youngster, but he had a lot of fun.

Good thing about beachwalks are the dunes. The Dutch coast is protected by beautifull dunes. Good thing about these dunes is the fact that there are heaps of rabbits living in it. And ofcourse that makes the dogs very happy. Kylie and Jazz behave pretty well in the dunes. They know now they can watch, they can smell, but they are not supposed to hunt the rabbits. The walks don't go very fast, for every 5 meters they point out another rabbit, but it's so beautifull overthere, especially with the snow, that I don't mind :-))

Kylie has got a new hobby on her beachwalks. Because of the snow and the half frozen canals, we walk on the beach nearly every day now and she started to bring me dead fish in all kinds of rotten stages. I don't know if I have to take that as a compliment.... ?? At least she doesn't roll in it :-))

Although Ares is still very young, he's already educated well for hunting. At the bottum picture, at the background of it, you can see he sleeps on his first huntingtoken. He must think that to be great! I think he's a very lucky dog to live with Klaus :-))

Ginny has a great home. A huge garden and a field with sheep, owned by Arien. The fence around the sheep ofcourse is no problem for Ginny to jump over. Luckily she's big friends with the sheep. Everytime I get pictures of Ginny the resemblance with her brother Kalle strikes me. She's a good looking girl I think :-))

Ofcourse I had to make some pictures of Jazz and Kylie in the snow too. Kylie didn't have time for posing. Everywhere there are noises of birds and little animals in the cracking snow, so she's pointing all the time. Kalle and Jordi also have been quit busy. After having 4 beautifull kids in the Netherlands together with Nora, Kalle was asked to come to England to make Helga from the Ghyllbeck kennel pregnant. The outcome: 10 gorgeous puppies, 4 dogs and 6 bitches. Hennie has got a very nice website with lots of puppy pictures from these litters: http://www.munsterlander.nl

The last two weeks we could still enjoy the company of Sparkey and Gunn. They've grown big enough to visit the park so we did. Mila is living with Annemieke, who also owns Bonnie (Jazz's other daughter) and luckily they are living only a few streets away. Jazz, Kylie and Bonnie are a true pack together on our walks and soon enough Mila will probably join them on their hunts. I made a few pictures of them and a little movie.

We already received a lot of pictures of the puppies at their homes. Great to see them all so happy and active! Some of them have already gone to their first puppy-huntingtraining! And Ares already helped Klaus with trapping a fox! (well, helped trying to move the dead fox, but Ares has to grow a little more before he can be realy helpfull with that :-))

All the puppies have gone to their new homes now. It was a great pleasure to have raised them and they were a lot of fun. The new owners are very enthousiastic (so far, so good) and I hope they all will grow up to become beautifull and loveable huntingdogs. Jazz, you did a great job!

It's already the last week with the puppies. I made a few video's, but couldn't choose, so I uploaded all three of them. One is made in our livingroom, the others in our garden.

Ofcourse from this litter we also wanted to make a group picture. The first litter was so cute-looking in the wheelbarrow. We decided to let them pose in the lounche-chair. Maybe that would have a relaxed effect on them. First we let them play in the garden, until half of them was half asleep and then started the making-of the picture. Well we had lots of laughs, because it was total chaos all the time. Finally when half of the puppies were fast asleep, we made a picture that was reasonable, but in the back of the chair some of them were asleep too and not to be seen on the picture. Well... who cares :-))

The puppies are getting more adventurous by the day. They run around spread among the whole garden. Only when Kylie is near, I can make video's where at least some puppies are on. But ofcourse Kylie is also a lot of fun to look at, while she is playing and teaching her little brothers and sisters.

The wheather was nice the last two days, so we moved the playground outside.
Kylie now recognizes the puppies as little dogs and is very sweet to them. The puppies also think she's great and follow her where they can. On our website at ALBUMS all the new puppy pictures are uploaded. It's been very busy last week, but at last we're up to date.

The puppies are growing so fast now, they are starting to become real doggies now. They didn't realy like my porridge, but when I started to give them baby-crocks, soaked in water, they started to eat immediately.
But mum is still favorite!
On the little video, I just removed the door of their sleepingdome to let them go to their playground. I think in another week time, they will need our whole livingroom for space, because they are realy a crowd :-))

Time goes so fast, today the puppies are already 2 1/2 weeks old. I made a new serie of pictures, you can find at "Album" The puppy on the picture above realy was the sweetest today. Where with all his brothers and sisters it took me at least 20 pictures to get 1 reasonable picture, he just sat down like a professional model and waited for me to finish. What a clever little bloke!
And then the dinner time... I'm so glad Jazz is so easy going with the puppies, for everytime she goes in to feed them, well, watch the litle video and you'll see. Most of the times I have Jazz feeding on a blanket outside the box, where I let the puppies drink in shifts, first the smaller ones and later the big ones. They all grow very well.

This morning, while taking care of a puppy, all of a sudden she looked at me with the prettiest blue eyes... I was melting. My camera was near, so hear she is on the picture above. Puppy-eyes are all blue in the beginning and turn brown later.
I also made a few little video's of the puppies. They are never boring. Even while sleeping they are fun to look at.

Yesterday on the 7th of September Jazz has given birth to her puppies, 10 boys and 3 girls. (so it's a very masculin litter :-)). Jazz and the puppies are doing fine and we are very proud! On the website at "Album" we will download all the pictures of the puppies.

The last few days

There are only about 3 days waiting left before delivery. So today I took the camera on our walk, to make the last pictures of Jazz with her carriage. She's still very active and she likes the water best, because of the ducks and ofcourse because her belly weighs less in the water. And bringing me the dummy I threw is also no problem. She's realy a sweety!

Jazz is doing realy fine! She's eating well and she's still very active, although it's getting harder jumping over the tree-trunks now. Time is going fast. In about 10 days the puppies will be born. Exciting!

Still 3 weeks to go before the puppies are due. Jazz already lost her pretty figure (see picture on top) but she hasn't lost her interests yet. On the little video the girls are mice-hunting. The puppies in Jazz's womb learn early that a Large Münsterlander life is not lived in front of the heater.

Jazz is pregnant

Monday we went to radiology to see if Jazz is realy pregnant. With dogs it can happen that you only discover the last 2 weeks that they are. Well Jazz is definately pregnant. It's hard to tell how many puppies there are inside, but I could easily count 5 of them, so we expect 8 till 10 puppies. At the top picture, with a lot of imagination, you can see a little puppy. The picture underneath is out of a book and shows a puppy-foetus at 28 days after fertilization, like our puppies right now, to get an idea what they look like. The picture is turned the same way as the puppy in Jazz's womb.

On July 7th Falko (Griff vom Silberberg) and Jazz mated. A dog is 63 days pregnant, so Jazz's 2nd litter is expected around September 8th.

Kylie and Django jr. Dutch Champion

Last Saturday both Kylie and Django jr. became Dutch Champion at the dogshow in Oss. In Holland you can only become champion when you keep on winning with excellent qualification after your dog is 27 months old, so now they are 29 months, we had to enter once more. Kylie even won BOB (Best of Breed) so now she can retire from dogshows and from now on we will concentrate on huntingtests. Brother Kalle already entered a dogshow with Easter and gained his last point to become Dutch Champion, so now we have three Dutch Champions in our first litter, something to be proud of.

Sundaymorning walk

Because Kylie and her sister Bonnie (on the picture above in the front) are both in heat, we have to walk some place where no other dogs come. We found a beautifull path along meadows. On these meadows heaps of geese were fouraging and Kylie was very interested in them. Every fence we passed, she had to have a good watch.

How peacefull! And chicken grain tastes much better than dogfood. Don't think we've got peacefull Large Munsterlanders. It's only because these chickens belong to the family that they are not bothered by the dogs. All other chickens have to fear for their lives.

Kylie best LM in field-trials 2008!!!

Yesterday the awards for the Large Munsterlanders with the best achievements of the past year were given... And I'm so proud for Kylie won the award for the best Large Munsterlander in field-trials of the year 2008!!!

Yesterday at the dogshow in Wieze, Belgium, also Django won 2nd place in the Huntingdog Group!! This is very extraordinairy, for except for his brother Kalle, no Dutch Large Munsterlander ever achieved so well at a dogshow. Peggy IJpelaar was beautifully showing Django. Because of her schoolwork she could not join her parents to Sweden where at the same time Kalle had to show. Kalle got BOB and Winner 2009. He now may call himself Swedish Champion. As soon as we have the official pictures of Django's achievement, ofcourse we will publish them.
